A major sport in Switzerland, hockey is an integral part of the “Helvétique”
culture. With more than 100 years of history on the banks of the lake “Léman”,
this sport has become unavoidable in Geneva. The Genava-Servette Hockey club,
which grows at the heart of the Swiss elite of hockey, is the city’s club.
It plays more than 25 meetings, at home during the course of a season
(September to April). Of course, during the 60 minute meeting, all eyes
are turned towards the ice, in order to follow the evolution of some of
the best hockey players in the world. Nevertheless, no need to be an expert
to appreciate the meeting. This fast-paced game where physical contact is
always present, impresses by it’s intensity and captivates the attention
of everyone.
However, at the Vernets “patinoire” (rink), you will participate in more than
a game of hockey. Before, during and after the meeting, the Geneva-Servette
Hockey Club offers a multitude of entertainment and services, with the one
objective of ensuring that you spend an enjoyable evening and that you keep
a fond memory of your visit to the rink.
You will find below, some of the services which are made available
on match evenings at the Vernets rink.

official GSHC boutique is situated in the parking area of the rink and the
inside shop is waiting to welcome you in the hall of the Vernets. There

| Much more than a programme |
 |
Every match evening, there are around 3500 programmes which are distributed
freely to the public in Vernets. A little coloured sheet, in which the
evening’s spectators can find all information about the coming meeting:
team composition, animation times, partner announcements and other
messages as well.

 |
 |
| Video Animations |
 |
The GSHC recently endowed itself with what one must do best in terms of
video animation. Therefore four giant screens sit imposingly above the
ice and show various graphic images for the entire duration of the evening.
From 7:30 p.m. reports made by the young directors of “6 minutes mag” are
shown for you to better get to know GSHC. Then, little by little, you are
led up to the presentation of the players which always precedes the un-missable
ceremony of the player’s entry onto the ice.

| Sherkan |
 |
Unavoidable in Geneva, he is the emblem of the club and every evening of
the game, he makes his entrance before the hostilities commence.
His silhouette emerges from the darkness to proudly sit on the central
circle, before going back into the stands of the Vernets.
A unique spectacle in Switzerland.

| Calvin |
 |
He is the mascot of the club and the children’s best friend. He never forgets
to greet them during the meeting and to give them presents. He even has his own line
of clothing, ideal as presents for the little ones.

| The Cheerleaders |
 |
More commonly called PomPom girls, they are an unconditional encouragement
for the GSHC. Dressed in their yellow and garnet (dark red) strip,
they animate the stands and the ice during the whole meeting and appear,
generally, during the breaks in the hall or on the ice

| The fans of GSHC |
 |
The Geneva-Servette Hockey Club is lucky enough to be able to count itself
as the third most attended team in the Swiss league. At each meeting, there
are more than 5’000 spectators who travel to come and encourage the Eagles in
a rink with a maximum capacity of 6’500 seats. In addition, the GSHC can rely
on faithful and well organised fans who create the special feeling of the Vernets
